Engagement Party Marquee Hire Brisbane
Sizes by guest count, real package prices, festoon and dance floor ideas — celebrate the engagement your way.
An engagement party is the warm-up to the main event — relaxed, personal, and a chance to bring both families together before the wedding planning takes over. A marquee turns your backyard, a family acreage or a hinterland block into a private venue for the night: no room hire, no minimum spend, no closing time. And if you fall in love with the setup, the same clearspan range scales straight up to wedding marquee hire for the big day. This guide covers sizing, real prices, and the festoon-and-dance-floor extras that set the mood, using the numbers we hire every weekend.
Why a Marquee for an Engagement Party
Your venue, your rules. No room hire, no minimum spend, no per-head minimums. Bring your own caterer, your own bar and your own playlist.
A trial run for the wedding. Love the clearspan-and-festoon look at your engagement? The same range scales up to a full marquee wedding.
Weather-proof. Full PVC roof and walls, engineered to 80km/h and Australian Standards. The night runs rain, hail or shine.
The look. Festoon lights overhead, high tables, a grazing station and a clear-roof at dusk — it photographs like a hired venue.
What Size Marquee for an Engagement Party?
Engagements usually run cocktail-style — high tables, a grazing station, a bar and room to mingle — so you can fit more guests than a fully seated dinner. As a guide:
| Guests | Marquee | From (Pack 1) |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 40 (cocktail) | 6m × 6m | $800 |
| ~40 seated (round tables) | 8m × 6m | $950 |
| 45–60 | 6m × 9m | $1,050 |
| 60–80 | 8m × 9m | $1,300 |
The 6×6m is a popular engagement size — cocktail-style for around 40 with high tables, a lounge area and a grazing station. Want round-table dining? The 8×6m seats around 40 comfortably with proper chair spacing. Drop your guest count into the 3D Marquee Builder and see the tables, bar and dance floor laid out before you commit.
What's Included — and the Package Options
Every marquee is a clearspan structure (no centre poles), professionally installed and packed down by our crew, engineered to 80km/h and Australian Standards. From there you pick from our marquee packages:
Pack 1 — the marquee + crew setup/packdown. Bring your own everything else.
Pack 2 — adds the essentials: flooring, festoon lighting and core furniture.
Pack 3 — the full styled setup with a dance floor section and exterior festoons, done for you.
Real numbers on a 6×6m: Pack 1 $800 · Pack 2 $1,620 · Pack 3 $2,070. For a larger guest list, the 8×9m runs Pack 1 $1,300 · Pack 2 $2,840 · Pack 3 $3,440. All prices are subject to GST.
Festoon Lighting & the Finishing Touches
An engagement party lives or dies on atmosphere — and lighting is the cheapest way to get it:
Festoon lighting: warm-white Edison strings at $50 per 15m run, or the Backyard Bliss pack with poles for $280 — the single biggest “wow” for the least money.
Dance floor: a 5×5m Pro-Floor section is $350, or the dance floor + festoon bundle is $550 — the same combination built into Pack 3.
Roof: white for a classic look, or a clear (glass-look) roof upgrade at $50 per bay for a starlit ceiling once the sun goes down.
Furniture: high cocktail tables, a grazing station and a wine-barrel bar suit the mingle-and-graze format of most engagements.
When to Book
For a Saturday in peak season, book as early as you can — popular dates fill weeks or months in advance. A 40% deposit confirms your date, with the balance due 30 days before your event.
What It Costs to Deliver
Three things move your price: size (your guest count), flooring (the biggest add-on, and the one most worth it on grass), and distance — delivery is quoted separately per postcode from our Bray Park base and shown in your quote. Setup and pack-down are always handled by our own crew (never DIY) and charged separately to the equipment hire — never bundled into the marquee price, and never free. Prices are subject to GST, and every job carries $20M Public & Products Liability insurance with a proper GST tax invoice. For the full breakdown, see our marquee hire cost guide.
