The biggest technical difference for inner-city setups is anchoring. Every marquee must be anchored. On turf we use ground stakes. On concrete, bitumen, pavers or rooftops we use concrete ballast weights — solid blocks bolted to each leg that generate enough downward force to meet engineering requirements without a single hole drilled. A ballast-weight surcharge applies and is quoted separately per event; it's not enormous but it reflects the extra equipment and setup time. Park events require Brisbane City Council approval. South Bank Parklands has its own separate authority — South Bank Corporation — with a distinct parks-booking process and engineering documentation requirements. We supply the marquee engineering drawings the council typically requests as part of the permit application. Marquee components break down to 6m sections — the longest single piece — which fits most commercial freight lifts. Inner-city lead times are typically longer than suburban events — council permits for parks can take 2–4 weeks to issue, and corporate venue access often requires building-management coordination. For CBD park events, booking 6–8 weeks ahead is recommended. For private courtyard or warehouse-yard events, 2–3 weeks is usually sufficient. All marquee pricing is equipment-only.
